The pub itself is cosy with warm and friendly atmosphere, with no juke box, fruit machines or television to enable conversation or just enjoy a drink or meal with friends. The Bar/Restaurant is packed with character, from the open beam ceilings and wall's to the Brass, Pictures and shields that cover the walls. The Bar / Restaurant is able to seat up to 35 people comfortably and tables near the bar are for those wishing to enjoy a sociable Drink.

We serve food Mon-Sat from lunch times 12.00 - 2.00 and evenings 7.00 - 9.00 except for Fridays and Saturday where food is served in the evenings until 9.30. On a Sunday we give the option of two sittings either 12.00 or 1.30 due to the demand of customers wishing to dine.

If you are thinking of eating at the Sportsman it is advised that in the evenings you book to avoid disappointment, and Why not try our Friday Night Special Menu Three courses & coffee for Only £10.50 or on Sunday a Three Course Traditional Menu only £9.50.

A garden and children's menu are available each lunch time as well as a Menu for Vegetarian's that contently changes for an exciting variety.
