I ate here with my partner on friday night. The atmosphere was great the place was pack and bustling everyone was freindly the music was just lound enough to cover awkard siliences but not to loud to make you shout to hear each other. The meal was excellent and although was very busy services was good with what seemed like only one waitress. I can not recomede this place enough with great value for money i think 12.50 for three excellent courses and coffee is to cheap but hey great value for money

To suet or not to suet...that is the question,
Whether tis nobeler to suffer the strings and arrows of outragous misfourtune or have the suet instead.

A suet a suet my kingdom for a suet.

Suet Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate and tasty
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,but never the suet.And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course un-
trimm'd;but goodness be the suet's bounty.
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor suet lose that fair thou ow'st,
Nor suet brag how thou wander'st in his
shade,

The Sportsman at Sholden

The Suet pub

The Sportsman is the pub for suet,
Everyone agrees.
I go there every weekend,
For suet, chips and peas.

Janice is the owner,
Along with Jamie her son.
They run a friendly hostelry,
The Sportsman’s second to none.

The owners they are friendly,
Service with a smile.
The nicest pub around here,
Within a country mile.

The variety of J2Os,
Grows week in and week out,
The choice is ever-ending,
Of that there is no doubt.

I love the Sportsman pub,
I guess from my poem you knew it,
Go on, give it a try,
Especially the suet!

Took the family to sunday lunch today and just thought would put a quick note in about the excellent service we recieved. The little waitress was run of her feet but still such good service. We eat at the sportsman all the time and the food was 100% like always, we are never dissapionted. We all love that homecooked feel to our meals reminds us of a roast that my gran would have been proud of. See you next week for more

The service is exceptional and am suprised the bill was so small for what was an exceptional meal. The suet puddings are to die for and cannot be recomended enough. The welcome is a warm and hospitable one you cannot fail but to be pleased.
